Tuesday May 6th at 6:00, Oconto Falls Library will be hosting a mushroom identification program. Edible mushrooms and tips will be included but will cover much more. People will be out and about in May,you may find some mushrooms that you would like help in identifying. Bring pictures or samples if you have them.
The class will be led by Matt Weller. Matt is a self-taught naturalist with over 20 years of experience finding and identifying mushrooms in northern and central Wisconsin. He
spent six summers on an island covered in old growth forest in Lake
Superior and positively identified over 300 species and consumed over 40
of them. He has also inventoried the mushrooms of 6 nature centers and
natural areas in Wisconsin.
