Kids’ Crafternoon: Cupcake Decorating
Crafternoons for older kids are back! Join us for different projects on Wednesday afternoons throughout the summer.
This week (June 25th) is cupcake decorating! We’ll have plain vanilla cupcakes and chocolate cupcakes. There’ll be plenty of frosting and we’ll have different icing tips and sprinkles set up for the kids to try! Library staff highly encourage you to eat your creation once you’re done decorating (unless, of course, you’re allergic to anything in the cupcakes at Piggly Wiggly). Stop in any time between noon and 5:00 to begin (we’re open until 6:00, but you’ll want time to finish your masterpiece!).
As noted, this is an activity for gradeschool children and teens rather than preschoolers (age 7 and up). Some crafternoons involve elements that are hot, sharp, or extra messy. ***HOWEVER, cupcake decorating generally does not involve much danger. If there’s a crafternoon to bring the kids under age 7 to, this is the one!*** A helpful adult or an older teen will still need to attend to lend a hand and monitor behavior.
